Speaking on Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, the singer quipped when told of the 30-year anniversary, "I don't like the word 'time' and 'thirty,' so I don't know what that means." Wicked Director Defends The Movie's Biggest Flaw Amid Fans Outrage

The new Wicked movie, directed by Jon M. Chu, has received critical acclaim and box office success, but the color grading has sparked debate. Some viewers have criticized the film's more muted tones, especially in contrast to the vibrant colors of the original The Wizard of Oz. In response to these critiques, Chu defended the decision, explaining that the color choices were intended to make Oz feel like a real, lived-in place. He emphasized that the goal was to present a fresh version of Oz, distinct from past portrayals that relied on matte paintings or digital effects. By focusing on a more grounded, worn look, Chu aimed to make the relationships and stakes in the story feel more authentic.

Bill Maher Slams Neil Degrasse Tyson For Refusing To Men Have Advantage Over Women In Sports

On “Real time with Bill Maher on Friday, host Bill Maher and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson had a heated exchange over gender differences in sports and a controversial article published by Scientific American. The article claimed that disparities between male and female athletes were due more to societal biases than inherent biological differences. Maher dismissed the claim as "nuts" and unscientific, pointing out the absurdity of suggesting that societal biases, rather than biology, explain why a WNBA team couldn’t beat the Lakers. Tyson countered, clarifying that the statement came from a former editor of the magazine, not the institution itself, and cautioned against indicting the publication over one person's opinion. Maher pressed Tyson to denounce the statement as unscientific, but Tyson deflected, pointing out that in some sports, like long-distance swimming, women might have a natural edge. Frustrated by Tyson’s reluctance to concede on the broader issue, Maher joked that he was "part of the problem."

Jussie Smollett's Hoax Attack Conviction Overturned

The Illinois Supreme Court has thrown out former "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett's conviction for lying about a 2019 hate crime. Smollett was found guilty in 2021 of faking a racist and homophobic attack and lying to the police. His lawyers said this violated his Fifth Amendment rights because, in 2019, Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx had already agreed to drop the charges if Smollett paid $10,000 and did community service. A special prosecutor later charged him again, leading to his trial and conviction. In its decision, filed yesterday, the court stated they are resolving a "question about the State's responsibility to honor the agreements it makes with defendants." The court stated it did not find that the state could bring a second prosecution against Smollett after the initial charges were dismissed as part of an agreement and the actor performed the terms of the agreement, noting that Illinois case law establishes that it is "fundamentally unfair to allow the prosecution to renege on a deal with a defendant when the defendant has relied on the agreement to his detriment."

"You didn't show but that's what I did in the piece!" Gere explained. "That's what the clip was!" "That's what the clip was but we cut that part out. But then you did it live!" Guthrie said. "I could see that but it didn't make any sense without that!" he noted, later insisting the move wasn't intention. "My hand did that, I have no control!"

Downdetector, which tracks online outages, more than 80,000 customers were experiencing issues by 10:35 pm New York time on Friday. Despite this, Netflix sees the event as a success after claiming as many as 65 million households were viewing at one point. “We don't want to dismiss the poor experience of some members, and know we have room for improvement, but still consider this event a huge success,” Stone added.

Following Donald Trump's election win last week, Zegler shared a series of devastated messages with her 2.3million followers. “I find myself speechless in the midst of this,” she said. “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace. Another four years of hatred, leaning us towards a world I do not want to live in. Leaning us towards a world that will be hard to raise my daughter in.” Zegler said she shouldn't be shocked by the outcome of the election - which saw Trump walk away with both the popular vote and the electoral college vote after winning every swing state. She continued: “It is terrifying the number of people who stand behind what this man preaches.” Zegler described the support for Trump as a “foolish subscription to a false sense of security, masculinity, intelligence, patriotism and humanity.”
